“Foodie” a term older than you probably image was coined back in 1980 by New York magazine writer Gael Greene. In 2016 the term is a bit cliché however, these same gastronomes are setting the next trends for gourmet greatness. Broadbent Hams is tradition but that doesn’t mean we aren’t trendy and to be fair we have been doing some of these trends for a long long time now.
What Foods are Hot in 2016?
Per the Huffington Post, one of the top 10 Food Trends of 2016 is Breakfast, Y’all. Broadbent not only knows breakfast but we really know breakfast. Check out our selection of delectable breakfast meats including Country Ham Steaks, Hickory Smoked Bacon, Pepper Bacon, and Grandma Broadbent’s Smoked Country Sausage. Beyond the meats we offer Apple Cinnamon and Maple syrups to top those handmade pancake you can whip up with our easy to make mixes. Don’t forget the biscuits, grits or gravy either.
P.S. Pancakes look better with a side of bacon. (see what we mean?)⇒
Amazon and Uber aren’t the only ones that think having food delivered to your home is an exceptional idea. At Broadbent why drive to us when we can send you packages of deliciousness. Your only a few clicks away from having award winning ham at your doorstep. Not a great cook? You don’t have to be, some of our best selling ham products really only require heating and we won’t tell anyone if you eat them cold. Convenience is a big factor in today’s world so whether it is just you, a party of two or all your family and friends, we’ve got what you need to satisfy a gourmet appetite.
At Broadbent we know big family meals are a tradition at the Holidays or Sunday dinners, but the rest of the week can be busy. A big trend is to skip meals all together and simply snack throughout the day. However, these snacks can’t just be a bag of chips if you want to have the energy to power through those demanding days. Instead look to protein rich foods such as our summer sausages, Cheeses, or pre-cooked hams. Fruit and cheese plates have been a staple in European countries instead of a heavy mid-day meal for centuries. A simple arrangement of sausage slices and cheese or crackers is an easy to pack snack for adults and kids alike.
Hickory Smoked/house-made Sausage
With some of the big health food trends of the recent past sausage has gotten lost in the shuffle of processed products. But when it comes to house-made Hickory Smoked sausage there is a vast difference between our gourmet goodies and the store bought hodge podge of products wrapped up in a casing. Broadbent’s uses the time tested tradition of Grandma Broadbent’s secret recipe. Once ground, it is stuffed into a cloth sack and slow smoked with Hickory sawdust. Though we can’t give away her exclusive blend of savory spices we can confirm that our meats are all real and nitrate free.
